Head and Neck Cancer

A group of cancers of the mouth, sinuses, nose, or throat.

Smoking is a significant risk factor.

Symptoms can occur in the mouth, sinuses, nose, or throat and include a sore or lump that doesn’t heal, a persistent sore throat, trouble swallowing, and changes in the voice.

Treatments include surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy.

Gastrointestinal cancer

Gastrointestinal cancer is cancer that develops along the GI tract (also called the digestive tract). The GI tract starts at the esophagus (the tube that takes food from the mouth to the stomach) and ends at the anus (where waste exits the body). Primary GI cancer starts growing in the GI tract.

Gynecologic cancer is any cancer that starts in a woman’s reproductive organs. Cancer is always named for the part of the body where it starts. Gynecologic cancers begin in different places within a woman’s pelvis, which is the area below the stomach and in between the hip bones.

Thoracic cancer is any type of cancer that is located in the thoracic cavity or chest. The most commonly known thoracic cancers are lung cancer and esophageal cancer. Less commonly known thoracic cancers are thymus cancer and pleural cancer.
